PS Plus September 2021 Free Games Leaked Online But They Could Be Too Good To Be True

September’s free PlayStation Plus games have leaked online, though it’s entirely possible the leak is a fake. As with all such leaked information, take it with a grain or two of salt.

The leaked titles do sound like good candidates for Sony’s PlayStation subscription service, but I worry they might be too good—August’s offering was fairly lackluster, after all. Then again, maybe Sony needs to make up for a lousy month.

The leak comes by way of Dealabs via Video Games Chronicle. The leaked titles are:

Free PS Plus Title For PlayStation 5

Overcooked! All You Can Eat the co-op kitchen puzzler that’s at once very fun and sort of stressful. Players have to carry out cooking-related tasks without burning or otherwise ruining the food all while the clock ticks down and other obstacles get in your way. It’s loads of fun and currently has a Very Positive user review score on Steam. The PS5 version has an 84/100 on Metacritic.

MORE FOR YOU

Predator: Hunting Grounds, the asymmetrical multiplayer shooter where you play either as the Predator or as a team of special ops soldiers trying to take down the alien menace. I haven’t played this one yet so I’m excited if the leak is true. Developed by Illfonic, this is actually published by Sony on both PS4 and PC. Currently the title has a Very Positive user review score on Steam, but a much lousier 56/100 on Metacritic, perhaps indicating that the developer has improved the title significantly since launch.

Hitman 2, the excellent stealth assassination game in one of the best stealth-based video game franchises out there. I really enjoyed this one and just typing this makes me realize that I never did finish Hitman 3 which came out not too long ago. Great games, great stealth and of course Agent 47 is one of the more iconic video game characters no matter what disguise he’s wearing. This one gets a Very Positive user review score on Steam and 82/100 on Metacritic for PS4.

It’s entirely possible, of course, that this leak is false and basically too good to be true. Then again, none of these seem like poor candidates for freebies. There’s some good variety—a co-op puzzler, a single-player stealth assassination game and an asymmetrical multiplayer shooter. I’d be happy with this lineup even though I own two of the three games already.

What do you think: Real or fake? We’ll know this coming Wednesday, September 1st with Sony releasing the game’s on PS Plus the following Tuesday. Stay tuned.
